Assessment of Contamination and Remediation Planning for the Port of Bar and Tivat Bay

Prepared by CETI under a UNEP/MAP Small-Scale Funding Agreement and GEF MedProgramme Child Project 1.1, this report assesses marine sediment contamination at the Port of Bar and supports pollution management in Tivat Bay, Montenegro. Undertaken during the project’s implementation period, the study focuses on two economically and environmentally significant areas affected by intensive maritime and industrial activities. Its purpose is to strengthen pollution monitoring, evaluate environmental risks and guide appropriate remediation. The work combines sediment-quality assessment, contamination analysis and risk assessment with the preparation of environmentally sound management plans for monitoring and potential remediation at the Port of Bar and Tivat Bay, including Porto Montenegro.
