PCB and Mercury Contamination Risk Assessment in Tivat and Risan Harbors, Montenegro
Resources description
In February 2024, CETI conducted an environmental assessment of sediment contamination by PCBs, mercury, and other hazardous substances in the harbor beds of Tivat Bay and Risan Harbour, Montenegro. Through systematic sampling and laboratory analysis, the study identified the extent of pollution, evaluated ecological and human health risks, and compared results to environmental standards. The assessment aims to inform stakeholders and guide effective management and remediation strategies to protect these coastal marine environments.
